If something is interfering with your relationships, your work, your sleep, or your sense of self—even if you can't quite name it—therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many of my clients come in feeling like they're functioning fine on the outside but quietly exhausted on the inside. That's enough of a reason to start.

We'll spend about 15 minutes on the phone getting to know each other. You'll have a chance to share what's bringing you to therapy and what you're hoping for. I'll answer any questions you have about how I work. At the end, we'll both have a sense of whether it feels like a good fit—and there's no pressure either way.

That's completely normal. You don't need to have it figured out before you reach out. Many people come to their first session knowing only that something feels off. Part of what we do early in therapy is slow down and get curious about what's actually going on, together.
Getting Started

Individual therapy sessions are $160 for 50 minutes. I believe finances shouldn't be a barrier to care, so if cost is a concern, please reach out. I'm happy to talk through options.

I am in-network with Premera. For other insurance plans, I provide superbills — detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance provider before we begin to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the diagnosis code, service code, and session details your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. I provide these upon request. Many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement this way, depending on their plan.

I ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. Life happens—if something comes up, just reach out as soon as you can.
Logistics & Fees

Sessions are 50 minutes and are conversational in nature. There's no script or rigid structure — we follow what feels most alive and relevant for you. I ask questions, offer observations, and sometimes suggest exercises or practices to try between sessions. You always have agency over the pace and direction of our work.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which tends to build momentum and deepen the work more quickly. As things shift, we may move to every other week. We'll check in regularly about what frequency is working best for you.

This varies widely and depends on what you're working on and what you're hoping for. Some clients find meaningful relief in a few months. Others choose to stay in therapy longer for deeper exploration. We'll regularly check in to make sure the work continues to feel useful and aligned with your goals.

Progress in therapy isn't always linear, and it can look different for different people. Some signs it's working: you're noticing patterns you couldn't see before, your relationships feel a little easier, you're responding to stress differently, or you simply feel more like yourself. We'll talk openly about how things are going and adjust our approach as needed.

Not unless it's relevant and you want to. My approach is depth-oriented, which means we do pay attention to how early experiences shape present patterns — but we follow your lead. Nothing is required. We'll work with whatever feels most meaningful and manageable for you right now.
How Therapy Works

My office is in the historic Healing House in North Tacoma, at 223 N Yakima Ave. It has a private entrance, which many clients appreciate for added comfort and discretion.

Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Washington State through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a private link before each session and can join from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns, including anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. Some clients actually prefer it — there's no commute, and many people find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space.

Yes. Many clients do a mix depending on the week. Just let me know in advance so I can have the right setup ready.
In Person & Online Therapy

My practice is focused on women, including cisgender and transgender women. My specialty areas — anxiety, complex trauma, and relationship patterns — are areas where I have deep experience working with women specifically, and I've designed my practice with that in mind.

Yes. Many of my clients have a diagnosis of anxiety, PTSD, or depression, and others don't. A diagnosis isn't required to benefit from therapy. I work with the whole person, not just a label.

It happens, and it's okay. Fit matters enormously in therapy — research shows the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. If at any point it feels like another therapist might serve you better, I'll tell you honestly and help you find a good referral.

Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential with limited exceptions required by law — for example, if there is imminent risk of harm to you or someone else, or if records are subpoenaed by a court. I'll explain confidentiality fully at intake, and you're always welcome to ask questions.
